@balajis.eth on @gmfarcaster was 🔥. I encourage you to watch it. Seeing @farcaster and @rish + their teams passing the torch was fantastic transitional theater. Thank you @nounishprof + @adrienne for creating a space for this to happen. Balaji is a long-form thinker. Watching him is like attending a graduate-level lecture, and I dig it. He's a rare mix of intellectual vision and execution, but instead of defaulting to founder speak, he delivers a thesis and has the receipts. One idea stuck with me: the wetware in our heads was crafted by somebody, often on purpose, tuned the way a marketing team tunes a jingle. He described a whole class of ideas as academic theories shrunk down for phones and sharpened into blades for winning arguments. I kept pulling on that thread. If even our own thoughts were caught from somewhere else, recombined, and passed along, then you feel like the author, but you're also the carrier. Some ideas spread because they win fights. Others spread because they name something you already felt. And human slop existed long before AI slop. That became an essay, written with Claude, and it says so up front: You Didn't Think That.

I’m excited to check out the GM episode and your link. The world needs more great long form thinkers imo.
I agree senor!
The @gmfarcaster link
Great essay and it applies to almost every belief we have. It's fascinating how culture and our circle of family and friends shapes it. "You feel like the author. You're also the carrier." is so true and most of us are willing to die on that hill (so to speak) of whatever belief we are discussing.
It’s a marathon of an episode but almost done with it, I’m hoping we can get back to Farcaster being interesting people teaching/learning from eachother
Interesting ideas Jonathan. I'd add a perspective. AI is mainly trained with what it is fed. We, as a species left much much more and it's feeding our unconscious personal and collective world. This, was never written, it was lived. All this escaped from intellect, algos and today AI Proof that History is often written by who won (a war, colonization, a recognition etc...) PS: My ideas are not always clear in English (my 4th language). I dont want to use a translator ...:) Cheers
