across disciplines, the best athletes in the world train extremely hard, but prioritize rest and recovery just as much as their training. yet, silicon valley seems to think working 10-hour days 6 days a week is the optimal schedule for success, despite studies showing you'd perform better drunk than with that little rest. who do you think is right?

right? i'm trying to find a new gig and these dummies want me to work 12 hours a day. get real

I’m not sure what kind of work exactly you’re looking for but for many tech and tech-adjacent jobs they don’t need you at your sharpest, they need you to think just enough to babysit the agents doing most of the grunt work and heavy lifting.

athletes got it right, recoverys non-negotiable. silicon valleys 10-hour days sound like a burnout factory
The athletes. Colorado builders know. Brad Feld has been writing about this for decades. Getting outside helps the brain far more than screen time.
recovery is nonnegotiable, it prevents wear and tear for as long as technically possible. practically if you don't rest well, you'll hardly be at your best.
