Cyclocross today’s stop was Meulebeke, Belgium. New victory for 🇧🇪 Michael Vanthourenhout who took the men’s race on the final-lap. His fourth victory at the Berencross. 🇱🇺 Marie Schreiber won the women’s race, holding off Aniek van Alphen, with Lucinda Brand completing the podium. One of the day’s biggest talking points was Fem van Empel’s return after almost a year away from racing. The three-time world champion finished fourth, just five seconds off the podium. Not a bad way to get back into the Belgian mud. Cyclocross is well and truly back! Photos by David Pintens

The Druivencross in Overijse kicked off the new Superprestige season today, with two solo victories. 🇳🇱 Lucinda Brand took the women’s race, ahead of Aniek van Alphen and Inge van der Heijden. 🇧🇪 Michael Vanthourenhout powered away on the penultimate lap to win the men’s race, with Witse Meeussen and Niels Vandeputte completing the podium. The mud season is back!
Behind every race, there’s a human story. French champion Celia Gery has been racing through leg pain since August, determined not to miss an entire cyclocross season. Now, at just 20, she’ll end her campaign after the European Championships to undergo surgery. A reminder that ambition can push athletes a long way, but knowing when to stop matters too. 🔗
