The Network Code from @ns is an implementation of some of the ideas I wrote about a couple of years ago when running @bunches, an onchain social network for sports fans. With 250,000 users at the time, moderation was a *major* issue for us, and we were already using AI and community voting to start to solve it. We had some really interesting designs/plans, but timing worked against us, but I still think the ideas were super intriguing. Excited to see how @balajis.eth and team solve similar issues here. One advantage the NS Protocol team has? Believe it or not, the typical user here is much more ... sane ... than the average sports fan. Read more:

  • I've been reflecting on how much I appreciate the Network Code, and at the same time, I think implementing it on an existing network that didn't have that code is akin to colonization. Of course, the big difference is that they gave the option to leave with your stuff at the start, and Hypersnap exists. This will pass in time, just as it did with Twitter -> X. I am bullish @ns and think they have both the capital and ideological commitment to make this network grow.
