you are mistaken. you can claim "warning was given" but the venue in which that warning went out was the thing nearly all non-NS aligned people were forbidden from accessing. The "security update" was a farce, and included a protocol-breaking change that had nothing to do with security – they could _claim_ it did, but this is false, they control the validator sets, so the alleged vector of the breaking change was something that could never have been abused by anyone other than NS themselves. And that was a two hour notice. Had someone not forwarded me the notice, we would have been blindsided by it. I don't get why you're so willing to defend people who are clearly acting with malice despite any statements to the contrary, but it's an awful look, and people will remember that when the NS side winds down due to attrition.

Not sure why you say “defend” when I’m just reporting facts. Stop trying to villainize me please. From day one we said we were going to see how things played out. But because we didn’t jump on your band wagon, we were IMMEDIATELY attacked, mocked, memed. For 2 weeks I’ve been dealing with character attacks from you and many others. Not sure why you think that’s justified? That’s actually been an awful look for you and your minions. And it’s been incredibly hurtful especially when it’s coming from people that we have done nothing but support for years. I didn’t agree with the ban. I said so immediately. If you want to create your own narratives to make yourself feel better, carry on. They CLEARLY announced the upgrade. We reported it a week before. Also, NS has said they are making everything open source MIT license so I don’t see the issue there. And also I do not expect the FC main client to be what it was — that’s not their plan. It’s going to be something completely different so yes, I’ll see what happens. Why not? We also have been sharing about new clients like Juke and Quilcast. And other things being built on hypersnap. As we’ve always done. The Farcaster I knew and loved has been gone for well over a year. And most of the people I enjoyed chatting with have also been long gone. I find some of the ideas around learn & earn interesting. So nothing to lose at this point by seeing what happens with the new FC. I do not need to choose a side. Just like I didn’t when you were attacking Neynar for the past 8 months. So ffs just leave me alone — I literally did nothing but support your efforts and really don’t deserve this animosity just for having my own opinions. ✌️
i'm sorry, i didn't realize pointing out what you said as untrue was somehow "villainizing you". people are rightly upset with how you handled things on gmfc, bringing balaji on and laughing and agreeing as he called us "toxic" and "abusive" for having the gall to be upset with a hostile takeover kicking long time users out. people are upset with you because of _your_ actions, and your unwillingness to consider that you have _not_ been neutral in this whole issue. you wouldn't be getting memed as a DPRK style news agency if you weren't actually acting like it.
And lastly, aside from anything else, you really went mask off here by calling the dissenting voice "Cassie's minions". People are not heeding the call of the fork because I asked them to. People are heeding the call of the fork because they have made up their own minds and see through the lies being told. Stripping the agency of the dissenting voice by calling them "minions" is exactly the lack of neutrality I'm talking about.
