Farcaster still hasn't won me over. I remember @dwr once saying in one of his casts, "If you don't like it, build your own client." And now, after FC has changed hands, I'm hearing essentially the same message: "Be polite or go find another client." Different people, same mindset. I believe decentralization should be about more than giving people the option to leave or build something else. It should also be about respecting different perspectives and allowing communities to shape their own future. Unfortunately, despite all these changes, I still don't see a meaningful shift in that attitude.

Lmaoo, no none asked So why did you decide to stay and vote yes ? You Should have voted No ? Easy as that 🤡
I voted "yes" before seeing that they were banning others, because I believed the protocol should be supported. But given the actions I’ve witnessed, I’ve changed my mind! Is there something wrong with changing my mind?
Lol, not too late , You can leave according to @balajis.eth Is that hard ? And No, you aren’t “supporting” the protocol… we both know why you’re hanging around lol
One thing comes to mind here: don't feed the trolls. You are absolutely right, Compez. And I welcome your opinion. Don't respond to trolls. They are just out to annoy you. It's precisely that uninvited-screaming-in-your-face attitude that Balaji was talking about.

A small gift for darkest days. Thirty-seven sailors leaping, Through the raging waters sweeping, Flee the captain, madly steering, Toward a world of wild delusion.
The new goal is recentralization. I’d treat the protocol like a blog with a portable audience.
I’m a centrist and a conspiracist. I notice things and also remember events well. I remember Dan saying that. I also remember going who the fuck is balaji when Jesse shilled his zora token and he was the first one to 1 million. Of course he ended up being another ex-Coinbase guy. And the first post I remember he was saying how the platform can’t grow if it can’t control the type of content in it. So his first post here or experience was with bad content so it makes sense what he’s doing rn. Is it the best plan? I honestly don’t know, but building another client is extremely fun and artistic and not nearly as difficult as it would have been 1 year ago. Farcaster only truly benefits if more people use the core feature of the social graph which is… the ability to make a client. But in terms of leadership, having all forms of company culture and opinions come directly from the fallen Coinbase tree branches, and it’s thrown around like hot potato between a few guys from one company, people feel less incentivized and disheartened actually by what could have been more simply, kinder UI decisions. 🧗♀️ The solution isn’t simple though and I don’t have an answer, only more problems: empathetic comms and positive treatment of strange individuals on the internet could invite more instances of fake positivity, toxic corporate ladder climbing, and the ourobros loop of snake eating its tail end. Balaji has a direction he wants to steer FC in which is: Network School, education, onboarding and what I believe a more formal direction that doesn’t treat decentralization as anything goes. These are my opinions, would love to hear what you think. 🤔

Real decentralization isn't just open-source code—it’s open culture and community governance. When protocols push a "my way or build your own" attitude, it misses the whole point of building bottom-up ecosystems. True strength comes from letting sub-communities self-govern without top-down gatekeeping.
