  • thanks. and agree. i'm not sure i would change that, though; their relatively brief lifespan is part of the special sauce. their death /should/ be tragic. george carlin understood this. and now... so do i. because the grief is proportional to the love, it should hurt like a mother fucker if you did your job right. and... it does. because i did. no regret. only grief.

When my partner and daughters dad died everyone was trying to slip me prescriptions. It bewildered me because like I wasn’t supposed to feel okay. I understood was better for them to not see me like that but it still made me feel some kind of way

I can’t find a clip but I did find the quote from a Six Feet Under monologue S1E4 "Why do we gotta hide it? Why do we gotta dress it up in a nice suit and put it in a box? Why can't we just pack it in ice and leave it in the living room? Why do we gotta make it look like they're just sleeping? They're not sleeping, they're dead. Why can't we just howl? In some cultures, they hire women to just sit by the body and wail for three days straight. I think that's a lot healthier." One of my favorite shows of all time btw. Best writing about life and death

my funerary arrangements are simple: leave me in the trash or by a tree. let nature claim my parts, distributing them as she sees fit. wail if you need but don't assume i care.
