What has happened to splits? I just logged in to use if for the first time in a few months. I'm totally lost, seem to have needed a new account. Can I get at my old functionality and funds, or do I need to use the raw contract? Why don't apps take their old users along with them on login cf paragraph, zora etc. ??

In purple DAO gc there’s a link. You can replace the url with your eoa & it will get to the legacy view/page. I’m saying legacy but it’s been updated over the years. Quite enjoyable to use but different from prior times.
explorer.splits.org/ is the answer to my practical question though not to my ux one :)
yes the original splitter contracts and ui support exist at explorer.splits.org as to the "take their old users with them" - the unsatisfying answer is "tradeoffs". in our case, our other product (app.splits.org) is a wallet so the user base isn't 1:1 w/ the protocol.

Thanks, once I’d found explorer. Then I was away, but I would have liked the app to take me on that journey once I’m logged in with my email that I’d always used. Explain what’s going on, where I can find the old stuff etc. instead it’s like it’s never seen me before and I’m lost.
funds in the split contract don't depend on the app, so they're still there. if it's a v1 split, SplitMain still lets you call distribute and withdraw directly from the explorer. grab the contract address from your own past txs, not from anyone who DMs you about this and agree, migrations that make users start over are a tax on your earliest users
