Yesterday in our livestream @balajis.eth shared he does not care about DAU (daily active users) Exact quote: “do i care about daus? i do not care about daus.” He went on to reference @sriramk.eth ‘s post about building something no one else is measuring (linked here: sriramk.com/building-unmeasurable-things) And then went on to explain his motivation to build farcaster into a place for learning and earning, and why education and academia are important (but with plenty of need for improvement from its current state). His words were a breath of fresh air to me. You should absolutely listen to the whole episode but if you want to skip right to this part here’s the link: youtube.com/watch?v=yaobajMRpck&t=8240s (Ps - for those following along in my coding adventures, I recently improved the transcript generation for our episodes and I’m loving how much easier it is now to find relevant snippets and clips from our show. If you want to see the full episode transcript, with speaker identification, check out this link: gmfarcaster.com/episodes/ep398/transcript and you can search for DAU to find the part where we talk about it, and clicking on any time stamp will bring you to that part in the episode)

“Some specific examples as opposed to theoretical ones: Google optimized for sending people away from its site when prevailing wisdom at the time was to maximize time on-site Zappos optimized to make the return-experience a delight and part of shopping when every other retailer was trying to drive down returns.”
Loving the coding adventures and new features, keep em coming. Honestly think your building a valuable service you could sell to podcasters - build a pod brain for ai.
Maybe because they don't see it? Or choose not to see it by sticking to the walled client

Maybe the new digital hipster is one who adopts primarily only the use cases @sriramk.eth outlined in that article
Interesting ... Even if i don't agree on some points with @balajis.eth continuous learning and civility are definitely essential for the renewal of the social contract (Jean-Jacques Rousseau's social pact)
