Show the cast this replies tothere's not a lot to take from this. it's like felling a tree and inferring the wet years from the size and depth of its rings: large accounts that have existed for awhile will have a lot of inactive follows/ followers. breaking those follows down by era helps demonstrate the influx of bots and inauthentic networks (wet years). but it's not really an indictment of the total network or that user's habits.

I think the interesting metrics at the 15d and 30d ones--active decay. As days pass since the acquisition announcement, I fully expect rate of decay for these two to speed up. An indication that people are no longer interested in farcaster. The sad part will be that these stats cover hypersnap, too (data is via hypersnap node). So that means the entire ecosystem has lost users, not that they have come over to hypersnap. Obviously no fault of hypersnap, but as a direct result of Balajis' actions.
Yeah, that's what I'm eyeing with this type of data. Although I do agree with your take that net usage isn't everything: absolutely hot metrics are meaningless when it's 99% spam and grifting. Conversely though, I think we're about to see a decline on all metrics across the board on original farcaster client: drop in usage, as well as drop in quality, engagement, and general free thinking. The only rise will be in grifting for those who wish to get a piece of the money Network State is dangling in front of them for "content". Wild times.
